Racing to Win on Wisconsin's Inland Waters and Great Lakes
is just one of the many exhibits at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc, WI. In this exhibit, "learn about the past and present of sail and power boat racing on the Great Lakes and inland waterways of Wisconsin. The sailing exhibit features races such as the famous Chicago to Mackinac as well as luminaries like Buddy Melges. Power boat racing includes Mercury Marine and Evinrude, important Wisconsin businesses, and racers like Sheboygan's Mark Nemschoff."

The DCMM focuses on the history and preservation of Door County Lighthouses. Visitor information, exhibits, and special events are highlighted on their web site. They also sponsor an annual Door County Lighthouse Walk.
Wisconsin's Great Lakes Shipwrecks
This nifty site tells the story of over 20 Great Lakes shipwrecks. Each entry details the history of the ship, describes the final voyage, and provides photographs, maps, and videos of the current wreckage site. The web site is a partnership of the Wisconsin State Historical Society and the Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute.
Wisconsin Maritime Museum
Originally founded in
1970 as the Manitowoc Submarine Memorial Association, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum is now one of the
largest maritime museums in the Midwest. Their web site provides information about upcoming exhibits and events and makes available the Museum's "award-winning" newsletter, Anchor News.
