Materials in OWLSnet
Your local library is purchasing new
materials for you all the time. If your library is a member of OWLSnet,
you have the added benefit of being able to get books from a 10-county
area of northeast Wisconsin. That's over 50 libraries willing to
share their materials with you. What a great deal!
Because OWLSnet's online
catalog (NEWCat) contains so many records for all of these libraries,
it can be rather difficult to find what's new. We've tried to make
it easier for you by creating a new materials database that will
let you peruse lists of new stuff in the comfort of your own home.
Try some of the links below - they list a variety of new materials
added to our collections over the last 15 days.
When you click on the title of an item in any of these lists, you
will be taken into NEWCat,
our online catalog. From there, you will be able to check the availability
of the item, and if you like, you can even place a hold!
How to Place a Hold
(Once you have clicked on a title in the new materials list
and are in NEWCat.)
- Click on the Hold Title button. It can be found
in the blue border on the left side of the screen. A new
window will pop open.
- Type your library card number (with no spaces) and the
first 4 letters of your last name in the appropriate fields.
- Click on Validate Patron Privileges.
- Click on Commit Hold after confirming that your
pickup location is correct.
- Use the back button of your browser to return to the new
materials list you were previously viewing.
We hope you enjoy this service and find it helpful.
