Average temperature and precipitation data for 2,000 cities worldwide.
Another database with historical weather averages for thousands
of cities worldwide. Currently not as easy to use as Weatherbase,
or the Washington Post site, but they say that a major upgrade
is on the way.
Data Archives -- Green Bay NWS
Daily records for Green Bay back to 1997, state-wide monthly precipitation
maps back to 1997, and Wisconsin storm data from 1999.
The Weather Underground
Six year daily archive of weather conditions for hundreds of cities
worldwide. First select the city you wish to find. At the bottom
of the daily forecast, you can then choose the date you want search.
Starting in 1999 the database includes hourly data. Precipitation
figures often seem to be not available.
Information About Past Weather
Informative article from the USA Today Weather Almanac about how
to find weather records for a particular day. Includes were to write
for certified copies of weather data to use in court cases. National
Climate Data Center (NCDC)
The NCDC is "the world's largest active archive of weather data."
A great deal of their information is available online, either for
free or for a small fee. That is the good news. The bad news is
that connecting the NCDC and accessing the data can sometimes be
slow and time consuming.
